Dak is Back; Boomin’ University Relocates to Tampa Bay

The 2021-2022 NFL season started this past Thursday night with last year’s Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing off ‘America’s Team,’ the Dallas Cowboys. There were a lot of question marks surrounding many players in this game, but they all showed up and out when it counted most. To start, many were curious to see whether the Cowboys’ quarterback, Dak Prescott, would be at full strength for the matchup. Prescott was lighting the league on fire before suffering a brutal season-ending ankle injury last year; Prescott also suffered a shoulder strain during training camp this year, but it was evident Thursday night that he was back after putting up 403 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and one interception. We go into every year with the same question: is this the year Tom Brady “falls off the cliff”? Every year he shows us why he is considered the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Brady looked sharp, and all of his passes were on the money; he did throw 2 interceptions, but neither one was considered his fault. The other former Patriot, Rob Gronkowski, displayed his talents by dominating with 8 catches, 90 yards, and 2 touchdowns. The surprise of the night was Antonio Brown. Brown was electric in the Buccaneers’ 31-29 win with 5 catches,120 yards, and 1 touchdown. He had his troubles, both legally and with the league, and had to jump through hoops just to have the opportunity to play. The former All-Pro showed everyone why he was once considered the league’s alpha receiver. Fans around the world are wondering if he could be the top dog in this loaded Tampa offense, but if one thing is for sure, it’s that the Buccaneers team who won the Super Bowl last year look even better now.
