Freshman Shiriyah Reflections

Updated: Apr 6, 2022

It goes without saying that the entire school, from students to generals to faculty, had a blast this past Shiriyah, and that they'll always keep the memories they've made in a special place in their hearts. The freshmen class, in particular, immensely enjoyed their first Shiriyah and will never forget the experiences that helped them form the bonds with one another. These experiences cultivated teamwork in art, sports, music, and many more activities which required the participation of each student to work toward their common goal of victory in Shiriyah. Although this goal may not have been achieved, it is the time and effort put into the competitions by the students which brought them together to form unbreakable friendships. Abby Ijadi, one of the freshman generals, shared: “I had a great time being general for Shriyah. It was such a fun experience and I can’t wait for next year's Shiriyah to come. My favorite parts were the tug of war, the Apache race, and of course, winning third place in the end.” Now, I won't lie and say I wouldn't have wanted to win. But, 10 years down the line, no one will remember who won Shiriyah in 2022. However, we will remember the bonds we built, the memories we made, and the people we connected with.
