Friendship Circle Walkathon

Every year, Friendship Circle, a charity organization for children and young adults with special needs, holds a walkathon to raise funds for its many services. The organization provides trips to various venues such as bowling alleys, laser tag, and amusement parks every Sunday, with the help of student volunteers. Friendship Circle cements remarkable bonds between children with special needs and their teenage friends. The organization is always open for more students to volunteer on the weekends and at their many events. The walk will take place on Sunday, October 31st and will begin at the Mashadi Jewish Center (54 Steamboat Road). Registration will begin at 12:00 PM and will encompass carnival activities and music. As part of registration, each walker receives a t-shirt, water bottle, and bag designed by Friendship Circle. The one mile walk to Chabad of Great Neck will begin at 1:00 PM, with music playing for everyone. Throughout the walk there will be dancing and singing on the streets of Great Neck. To culminate the walk, there will be a large color run and carnival with bouncy houses, slides, face painting, and games. It will be a day full of happiness, fun, and, most of all, Chesed. I implore everyone to come out and support this amazing cause!
