As per usual, NSHAHS trounced the competition at last week’s College Bowl. Amid a
gathering of eight other Jewish schools, both the Varsity and the JV teams that we sent bested the competition, winning 2 out of the 3 games that were played on Monday. This places both our teams at the forefront of our division, and on a sure track to playoffs and (hopefully) eventually championships.
College Bowl, for those interested, is a trivia competition where random useless
knowledge is tested. Questions span topics like geography, history, science, and more. Junior Ilana G., of the Varsity team, adds to this, saying: “College Bowl is such a fun experience, and a great way to be exposed to a wide range of subjects. We all have our own interests, so we work really well as a team!” In a game, four players are seated per half, and whichever team has answered more questions correctly after a set amount of time has elapsed takes home the win. Those interested should reach out to coach Mr. Muir about tryouts at the beginning of next year.
Indeed, NSHAHS has a lot to be proud of in relation to College Bowl. Last year, the
Varsity team made the inter-division playoffs, tying for second place with Frisch. Hopefully both North Shore teams will maintain and surpass that legacy this year. Team members should brush up on current events, and fans should stay tuned, as the next College Bowl meet is fast approaching, projected to be sometime in the coming month. Hoping for much success!
