NSHA history was made with the very first Senior Sunrise planned by our very own Leah Hazan, co-editor of the yearbook. She thought if all other schools had it, why shouldn't we? We are just as special. For those who aren’t aware, Senior Sunrise is when the seniors of the school gather on the school’s field around 5 or 6 in the morning and watch the sunrise together; the view is amazing! Of course, though, our school took things to a whole new level. Simply watching the sunrise was not enough; they were kind enough to sponsor a grand Dunkin Donuts breakfast for us after we participated in a beautiful tefillah outside. They had tons of bagels, donuts, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, and more! It was great! Following breakfast, everyone sat at the lunch tables together and sang songs with Rabbi Weinberg, an avid supporter of senior sunrise; he made sure to wake up extra early to join us. It felt amazing to be united as a grade, especially because this is our last year together under the same roof. We all needed this. The Class of 2022 is clearly one that is leaving their mark on the school by creating this new tradition and hopefully more traditions to come; after all, it’s only November. We hope to lead by example and show the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students how beautiful it can be to come together as one, creating memories that will last a lifetime. This is what high school is all about!
