The women of NSHAHS enjoyed a relaxing night of painting, Torah, and each other’s company. On Saturday night, the women’s Melave Malka allowed female members of North Shore’s community - including teachers, mothers, students and more - to come together for Motzei Shabbat. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by Mrs. Septimus and a delicious dairy dinner. After the delicious meal, various Divrei Torah related to Moshe were told, all of which led to the introduction of that evening’s painting: the Kotel. A skilled artist guided us through the painting in a slow, efficient manner, and taught us how to create many different shades out of the four colors they were provided. She also reminded everyone that the painting is supposed to be diverse depending on who the artist was, and that every person’s kotel will be different - just like the people they are drawing around it. Ultimately, we all finished our paintings with great strength and an increased confidence in our art capabilities. More importantly, as Shylee Kohanim, a sophomore stated, “The evening was a great way to bond with my mom and my friends after a stressful week of school!” Thank you to all who put in effort to set up this fun evening!
