This year’s girls sports season is off to a great start with a diverse selection of sports and players! Among the sports offered by NSHA are Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball. This season, the girls' basketball and volleyball teams are working hard to ensure a phenomenal run. In fact, this week, the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team is out in Los Angeles for the Glouberman LA Tournament! The event takes place from November 1 through November 5. The first two games have been against RASG and RAMAZ, and we will be receiving game results soon. The girls’ hard work in all of their practices has finally paid off, allowing them to take on such a competitive tournament against multiple other schools.
“It’s only the second day, and LA has been amazing so far. Every game and every point is a battle, but our team is strong, and this tournament just shows what a great season our team is going to have this year!” says junior Michaela Kovan, a Varsity basketball player. We are all anticipating great results from each of the hardworking members of the team.
Our Girls Varsity Volleyball team is also off to a great start. They have been working extremely hard at their weekly practices in preparation for future games. According to Abigail Arabov, a senior on the Varsity volleyball team, “Volleyball practice is very fun. Through high school, it has taught me so much about using time, hard work, and determination to help you succeed. We had a great season last year and look forward to another amazing season”. Although sports such as basketball and volleyball are a huge commitment for members of the teams, it is nonetheless an amazing experience. Many of the players will be making a comeback for spring sports to play tennis, softball, and soccer. With our members’ hard work and the dedication of the coaches, this sports season will continue to succeed!
